Yale University Professor to Address:"Rethinking the Corporate Environmental Strategy for Home Entertainment"

LOS ANGELES —Dan Esty, Hillhouse Professor of Environmental Law and Policy at Yale University, and author of the business best-seller "Green to Gold," has been named the keynote speaker at the first Green Media Summit, April 2 in Los Angeles.This invitation-only event will host over 125 executives from all home entertainment studios who are exploring new environmental practices forthe design, supply and retailing of home entertainment software.
Professor Esty is the Director of the Yale Center for Environmental Law and Policy as well as the Yale World Fellows Program and is the author or editor of eight books and numerous articles on environmental policy issues and the relationships between the environment and trade, globalization, security, competitiveness, international institutions, and development. His current research agenda includes projects on environmental protection in the Information Age and a rethinking for corporate environmental strategy.
Esty will participate in, advise and consult throughout the day as part of the program's in-depth, highly-interactive expert knowledge exchange about creating more sustainable programs for the design of DVD packaging, and creating green disciplines for retail merchandising, transportation, and manufacturing.The program will provide tutorials on the new environmental scorecards from key retailers. Presentation and analysis ofthe latest carbon emission analysis of the DVD will debut.Updates will be provided by current cross-industry environmental working groups on packaging, displays, transportation and education.
