Senior Vice President and General Manager,
Electronic Distribution Services
Technicolor Home Entertainment Services

Scott Dougall is senior vice president and general manager of Electronic Distribution Services for Technicolor Home Entertainment Services, a business unit that targets telecommunications providers, online retailers, and a wide range of content owners and distributors to provide managed services which facilitate content distribution over Internet protocol (IP) networks.

Based in the company’s offices in Burbank, Calif., Mr. Dougall is responsible for building and leading the company’s strategy, business plan and anticipated growth for digital distribution of content to the home including video-on-demand (VoD), Internet protocol television (IPTV), satellite, wireless, electronic devices, and other related channels. His other executive roles at Technicolor have included helping to build the electronic distribution services function overall, and planning strategy for the company’s internal production networks.

Previously, Mr. Dougall was the director of Software Platforms for Skystream Networks and general manager of SkyStream Canada, which was acquired by U.K.-based Tandberg Television in early 2006. At SkyStream, he was responsible for all of the design, development and marketing of the zBand suite of software. Dougall joined the company in 1999, bringing a lifelong experience in the broadcast industry, and years of experience in software development.

Prior to that, Mr. Dougall was the president and founder of Varuna Software, a Canadian-based company that he founded to explore the future of broadcast. This research resulted in the development of the Jetstream Data Broadcast System, a system for managing the aggregation and broadcast of computer based media. Skystream acquired Varuna in September, 1999, integrating all of the company’s employees and products, with Dougall running the company’s Northern Campus in Thunder Bay Ontario, Canada.

Mr. Dougall has an MBA from the University of Michigan, and a joint undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Economics from Queen's University in Canada. He also sits on the board of directors of his family's television and radio broadcast companies.
