Richard Beaver is a Global Director for RFID Strategy at Teradata

In this capacity, Richard has global responsibility for identifying, evaluating and developing opportunities as they relate to Teradata solutions for optimizing the supply chain and RFID. Mr. Beaver is responsible for developing the Teradata go-to market strategy for RFID as well as working with key global leaders to optimize their investments in RFID through the leveraging of new data created. As a public voice, Richard has delivered presentations on emerging technologies, RFID, Supply chain Integration and category management for the retail Industry.
Prior to Joining Teradata, Mr. Beaver was a Managing Consultant with IBM’s Business Consulting Services for 7 years. While at IBM, Richard was instrumental in developing and deploying IBM’s methodology around Category Management, functioned as the business lead for several software installations (Including Retek and Manugistics). Richard also lead multiple RFID projects for IBM clients helping them identify the business ROI for deployment of RFID technology and the impact it would have on the supply chain.
Before his time at IBM, Mr. Beaver held several positions within the retail/consumer packaged goods industry allowing him to gain exposure to supply chain integration, category management, profitability analysis, and consumer segmentation. At M&M Mars (Kal Kan Pet Food, division), he engineered the successful transformation of 4 retailers pet food categories from a traditional push methodology to an aggressive pull method based on consumer demands and profiles. In addition, at Mars, he developed methodologies for analyzing the impact of restaurants on grocery consumption within specific geographic areas. While at A.C. Nielsen, Richard provided advanced analysis to a number of clients allowing them to exploit competitive advantages based on data intensive research. While at Keebler Co. Mr. Beaver had direct P&L and development responsibility for all trade-marketing activities in the southern United States. Mr. Beaver also served 6 years in the Tennessee Air National Guard, where he developed his skills as a data analyst reporting to the base commander on aircraft maintenance performance.
Mr. Beaver received his B.S. in communications from the University of Tennessee. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Maintenance Data Analysis School at Chanute Air Force Base. Richard has successfully completed training in demographic analysis, consumer supply chain integration and target marketing through fact based selling. While at IBM Richard completed IBM’s Business Transformation class as well as a facilitation management program. He holds IBM’s certification as a professional consultant for Business Transformation. At Teradata Richard holds his Teradata Certified Professional certificate.
