LOS ANGELES — The Second Annual  Entertainment  Supply Chain Academy has been scheduled for June 27-28,  2007 at the Century Plaza  Hotel in Los Angeles.   The two-day conference program is designed to assist operations executives at leading content companies in streamlining  their supply chains for physical  media as  well as providing them  with practical knowledge about building  the infrastructure for their  emerging digital delivery systems.

Last year's inaugural event drew over 225 executives from all leading home entertainment companies.  Once again, ESCA will be co-located with the DEG: Digital Entertainment Group's Annual Membership Meeting.  The program is being developed by Conference Chairman Devendra  Mishra and is produced by Martin Porter & Associates in  cooperation  with  DEG and Pepperdine University.

"Our second annual gathering will place increased emphasis on the power of collaboration in the delivery of physical media products,” said Conference Chairman Devendra Mishra.  “Based on feedback from last year's event, we will illustrate ways that retailers, content holders and their partners are increasingly using new technologies to enhance the flow of information that results in growing profits for all involved  in the supply of DVDs, videogames and  CDs.”

The event will include a special conference track on the emerging Digital Supply Chain, which will provide attendees with insights into the technical specifications and requirements for building their own systems for delivering digital content via the Internet direct to consumers.

The Academy is being presented in cooperation with DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group, the association that worked on behalf of the industry to launch the DVD format, and now serves to advocate and promote the many benefits associated with DVD and other forms of digital entertainment. As an industry funded, nonprofit organization, the DEG also offers a forum for member companies to engage in ongoing discussions and provide external communications concerning various issues and opportunities which relate to new digital technologies that may emerge in the future.  For more information on the DEG, please visit www.degonline.org

Conference Chairman Devendra Mishra has been a senior executive at such companies as RCA-Ariola Records, LIVE Entertainment, VCL-Carolco, Lieberman Enterprises and Technicolor, Strawberries Records and Tapes and International Multifoods, etc.  At RCA Records, he implemented the revolutionary Hits and Catalog distribution, which became the hallmark of the industry.  As president of worldwide new media and distribution services at Technicolor, Mishra strategically developed and launched Technicolor Entertainment Services and also engineered and put into production its first optical media manufacturing facility.

The Second Annual Entertainment Supply Chain Academy is being co-produced and organized by Martin Porter Associates, Martin Porter is the former Senior Vice President/Publishing Director of CMP Information, where he directed 25 print, online and event properties in the audio, video, broadcast, systems and media markets.
