Laurel L. Junk is Amgen's vice president of Global Supply Chain and
Contract Manufacturing. She joined Amgen in early 2003. Laurel is responsible
for Amgen's demand / supply planning, manufacturing capacity management, warehousing, central inventory management, distribution, and external contract
manufacturing for bulk and fill/finish. This responsibility spans multiple sites within the US
and Amgen’s European
Logistics Center. Laurel also serves as
executive sponsor to Amgen’s Women’s Interactive Network.
Laurel joined Amgen from Johnson & Johnson, where she was worldwide
vice president, Global Supply Chain for the Medical Device & Diagnostics
division. At J&J, Laurel
set the direction and standards for moving the MD&D division to a global
supply chain information and process infrastructure.
Before joining Johnson & Johnson in 1996, Laurel was Director, Materials Management for
IVAC Corporation, previously a division of Eli Lilly & Co. While at
IVAC, Laurel
held various senior management roles in operations and general management.
Laurel holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Minnesota
and a masters’ degree in business from Duke University .
Laurel is also
a Six Sigma process improvement black belt.
