ESCA | Mar 10, 2008, 09:45 "Satish Jha is President of JM Consulting LLC and also chairs eHealth-Care Foundation that provides web based patient, physician and hospital management services to small, community and public hospitals and physicians. For the seventeen years he has been an executive working at the intersection of technology and management in life sciences and has led functions and organisations in pharmaceuticals, pharmacy benefit management (PBM), healthcare insurers and providers. In the nineties he worked as a Divisional Head of Global Information Systems for Roche, Switzerland, headed the Healthcare/ Pharmaceuticals practice for James Martin & Co in the US, led Telos Consulting and consulted for several hospitals to improve their processes, best practices and information management. He also advised the CEOs of several Indian pharmaceuticals companies to develop a global business strategy and some of them are now listed on the US stock market. He has lately been an invited member to the Board of MD/DC RHIO and the hospital track of MD Health Care Commission and has been supporting various hospital systems as an Executive for Informatics Management. He is very engaged with a number of social initiatives and founded, mentored or seeded a couple doze projects and initiatives. He is a former Editor of The Times of India Group and has been focusing on the intersection of technology, business strategies and public policy in the areas of universal access to education, healthcare and bridging the digital divide. He is also a member of United Nations' GAID, Special Advisor to Kofi Annan Center and Co-Chairs the World IT Forum (WITFOR). He studied at The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, Kennedy School of Government, University of Maryland, EDHEC- Institute Theseus in France, the Institute of Social Studies at The Hague and earned an MA in economics and an MBA in Strategy, Innovation and Information Technologies. He has also been a National Scholar in India, a Hubert Humphrey Fellow, Ford Fellow, Nederlands Fellow and was granted scholarships for management education by France Telecom and BNP. His c0-edited work with Leon Strous on "ICTs for Development and Prosperity" is scheduled for publication in Nov 2007" |
