BIO: Scott D. Smith, President, Sales and Marketing, ModusLink

Scott D. Smith joined ModusLink in April 2007 and is responsible for executive management of the company’s Global Sales and Marketing organization and furthering the strategic direction and execution of key business initiatives within the account management, sales, product development, solution architecture and communications groups.  Mr. Smith has more than two decades of sales and general management experience in the technology industry, including holding a number of global leadership positions in the U.S. and four years working in Asia.

Mr. Smith’s career includes more than 20 years with IBM Corporation, where he served in several senior sales and management positions, including Vice President and General Manager, Personal Computing Division, Americas; Vice President, Worldwide Sales, Networking Hardware Division; and as Vice President, Americas, e-Business Solutions.

Most recently, Mr. Smith served as President, Americas for Lenovo Group, after its acquisition of IBM’s personal computer business.

Mr. Smith holds a BS in Marketing from Clarkson University where he serves on the Board of Trustees. Additionally, Mr. Smith has a military background as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne.
